Cyclopes ida is a silky anteater of the Amazon basin. Its specialist-group account says it is common in seasonally flooded blackwater forest and along small tributaries, and that ants make up almost all of its diet.
The fur on its back, legs, and tail is gray, while the underside is yellow. It usually lacks stripes; when a dorsal stripe occurs, it is indistinct and blends into the fur.
It is arboreal and nocturnal in Amazon forest. The specialist account says it is common in seasonally inundated blackwater forest and along small tributary rivers or canals; its diet consists almost entirely of ants.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
