This small mouse is recorded in Central African lowland forests. One museum specimen had a tail about half its total length, and a wild population in Gabon showed seasonal variation in breeding records.
An adult female in the Smithsonian collection measured 170 mm in total length, with an 84 mm tail. This is one specimen, not a species-wide average.
In a wild population in southwestern Gabon, pregnant or lactating females were captured from August to March, and very young animals from October to March. The study describes breeding as partly seasonal.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
