The Philippine Dawn Bat is a large nectar-feeding bat found on several Philippine islands. Its narrow snout and long tongue help it drink flower nectar, and it can pollinate trees.
It has a long, narrow snout and a long pointed tongue. Its back fur ranges from dark to silvery gray, and the neck may have yellow or orange tones.
It feeds on nectar and can carry pollen between flowers. By day it roosts in caves, particularly limestone caves.
Females give birth to one young per pregnancy.
The second wing digit lacks a claw, and the large eyes have dark reddish-brown irises. The wings, legs and interfemoral membrane are dark brown.
Its head-and-body length is about 107–127 mm, forearm length 67–82 mm and weight 56–80 g.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
