This small flycatcher has a long, forked tail. It occurs along humid forest edges and in second growth in southeastern Brazil, especially in dense bamboo, where it gleans small insects.
The upperparts are pale olive, while the head and throat are pale cinnamon. The long, forked olive tail has white tips and a black band just before them.
It uses the understory of humid forest edges and second growth, especially dense bamboo and vine tangles. Birds forage singly in low branches and take small caterpillars and katydids mainly from bamboo leaves.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
