This woodcreeper is associated with patches of dry forest on rich soils in north-eastern Brazil. Its plumage varies among the study's regional specimen series rather than having one uniform brown coloration.
In northern and central specimen series, the underparts ranged from light reddish-brown to dark brown, and the throat from white to strongly buff-washed. The crowns of those specimens were streaked.
The 1997 paper reports a particular association with patches of dry forest growing on rich soils in north-eastern Brazil.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
