The Giant Leaf-nosed Bat is widespread in tropical Africa. It is a large bat with a prominent noseleaf and darker fur above than below.
The large noseleaf has several divisions along its rear edge and smaller lateral leaflets. The back is dark brown and the underside paler, with white fur on the flanks and where the forelimbs meet the body.
It uses lowland and coastal tropical rainforests as well as wooded savanna with gallery forest, and feeds on insects such as large beetles and winged termites.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
