This long-clawed shrew is recorded in Sri Lanka’s wet-zone mountain forests. The fine structure of its hair also has a feature used for microscopic identification.
Under a microscope, a dorsal guard hair has two deep notches in cross-section. This is a microscopic identification feature, not a visible coat marking.
The Sri Lankan assessment lists subtropical and tropical montane forest in the wet zone as habitat. It does not describe diet or daily activity.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
