The Greater Necklaced Laughingthrush has brown upperparts, pale underparts, and a dark necklace-like band. In its native range it lives in damp forests in small flocks.
Brown upperparts and pale cream underparts are set off by a black necklace-like band. The cheeks have white patches or streaks, and the long tail has pale tips.
In Hong Kong, flocks of about five to at least 20 birds move through the forest at different heights, foraging on the ground, in shrubs, and in trees. One bird may watch for danger. They eat fruit and invertebrates.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
