This diurnal squirrel of central and southern Africa is marked by a broad pale stripe along each side.
A broad white or cream side stripe sits above a narrow black stripe; the belly and cheeks are pale and the tail is long. Animals from drier areas tend to be paler than those in humid regions.
It is active by day and uses both trees and the ground. Its diet includes seeds, fruits, shoots, and caterpillars.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
