This small parrot lives in the North Moluccas. It feeds on fruit in the forest canopy and is seen alone, in pairs, or in small groups.
Males have red on the forehead and forecrown, with orange-yellow on the back and wing edge. Females have a green crown and red spots on the forehead and throat.
It feeds quietly among foliage high in the canopy and visits fruiting or flowering trees. In flight it gives a high-pitched call.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
