This millipede is known from the original locality in Rutherfordton, Rutherford County, North Carolina, USA, on the basis of the male collected in 1973.
The male described in 1975 had white side extensions of the body segments.
The male collected in 1973 was beneath leaves beside a log in an urban patch of hardwoods, only a few feet from the pavement.
The 2021 revision reported that the original site had been cleared for development and that repeated visits had failed to find it again. The authors considered that it might have disappeared from this locality.
The same male had a matching white stripe along the front edge of the plate immediately behind the head.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
