The Streak-headed Antbird occurs in forests on the eastern Andean slopes and forages in dense bamboo undergrowth.
The male has fine black-and-white streaks on the head, back, and breast, with a rufous belly and rump. The female has finer streaks and buff rather than white areas.
It forages inconspicuously in the understory of forest with bamboo.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
