MacGregor's Honeyeater is a large honeyeater of New Guinea's high mountains. Its black plumage is accented by yellow-orange on the wings and around the eyes, and it feeds mainly on podocarp fruit.
Its plumage is black apart from yellow-orange on part of the wings. Large yellow-orange bare skin surrounds the eyes. The sexes have the same plumage, with males slightly larger.
It lives mainly in subalpine forest and feeds chiefly on the fruit of Dacrycarpus compactus. It may move as fruit availability changes.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
