This small cisticola occurs along the Angolan coast and in parts of the Congo Basin. It is fairly pale and is often easier to detect by its song in grassland and savanna.
It is about 13–14 cm long and fairly pale for a cisticola, with a relatively plain back. Plumage alone can be difficult for identification, and its song is an important field clue.
It inhabits dry lowland grassland and savanna as well as marshes. The female builds a nest among grasses using leaves and cobwebs; the species has a characteristic song.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
