The long-nosed dasyure is a carnivorous marsupial of New Guinea’s mountain forests. Its long snout and sparsely furred tail with a pale tip are distinctive.
It is medium-sized and has a longer snout than the black-tailed dasyure. Its tail is less hairy, and the last few centimeters are usually whitish.
It is a climbing carnivore that uses forest vegetation and fallen logs. At Mount Kaindi, a fecal study found many beetles, grasshoppers and crickets, and spiders.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
