KOMIU, a local forest-care foundation, presents Hypsipetes harterti as the Banggai Golden Bulbul. Its profile lists forest and mixed plantations as habitat and gives a photo locality on Bakalan Island.
The identification note says it resembles the Sula Golden Bulbul, but has a darker olive breast contrasting with a broad yellow throat.
The profile lists primary, secondary, and degraded forest, as well as mixed plantations, and says birds are usually in pairs or small groups.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
