A thrush that breeds in forests of eastern North America and winters in lowland forests of Central America.
It is reddish brown above, with bold black spots on a white underside and a white eye ring. Juveniles show a somewhat muted version of the pattern.
It turns leaf litter and probes the ground for insects, pausing to look around. Males in eastern North America sing a flute-like song in spring and early summer.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
