A hornbill with a large black casque that moves through forest trees in search of fruit.
The body is black with a white tail tip. The male has a black head and a large black casque; the smaller female has a brown head and neck and a much smaller casque. Bare skin around the eyes and throat is blue.
It feeds mainly on figs and oil-palm fruit, with insects and other animal prey as well. It usually travels in pairs or family groups, though larger flocks gather to search for fruit.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
