A large-eared fox of the grasslands and semi-deserts of Central Asia.
It is slightly smaller than a red fox, with larger ears and legs. Its back is gray to reddish gray, its underside pale, and its coat thick and soft.
It mainly eats rodents, listening for rustles before leaping onto its prey.
When deep winter snow makes food harder to find, it may move south. It uses burrows dug by other animals and may hunt in small groups in winter.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
