Lander's horseshoe bat occurs in West and Central Africa. Its boundaries with related bats and some older range records are still being reassessed.
It is generally smaller than the related R. guineensis where they occur together and has rusty-colored fur at the sides. Their size ranges overlap, however.
Horseshoe bats catch insects in flight. Echolocation calls of R. landeri were also examined in research comparing related species.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
