The Herero Chat lives on rocky hills and escarpment slopes from western Namibia into south-western Angola. It often eats ants and termites.
It has dark brown upperparts and a dark mask through the eye and cheeks. The throat is whitish, and the breast and belly are off-white.
It searches for food by pouncing from shaded perches or inspecting the bases of shrubs. During breeding, both sexes build the nest and feed the young.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
