The bastard big-footed mouse is a small rodent of southern and western Madagascar's dry habitats. It rests in a burrow by day and searches for plant foods at night.
Its back is brownish fawn, its underside is whitish, and a thin tuft of long hairs marks the end of the tail. Its hind feet are large relative to its body.
It spends daylight in a burrow or lodge with the entrance sealed, then forages at night. Its diet mainly includes berries, fruits, seeds, roots, and plant stems.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
