The Xingu Scale-backed Antbird is an antbird of lowland forest in the Brazilian Amazon east of the Xingu River.
The male has a dark gray head and back edged with white; its black tail has a white spot on the central feathers.
In moist lowland forest undergrowth, it may forage with army-ant swarms, but it stays away from the center and feeds around the edges.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
