The yellow-pine chipmunk occurs in forests and shrublands of western North America. It gathers seeds and other foods on the ground and stores food.
The back is gray-brown to olive, with five dark lengthwise stripes alternating with pale stripes. The underside is lighter and the tail is long-haired.
It forages by day on the ground and among shrubs, collecting seeds and other foods for storage. Shrub cover and shade are used while feeding.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
