Nesillas mariae lives only on Mohéli in the Comoros. It has olive-green upperparts and pale buff underparts, and searches for small invertebrates in evergreen-forest undergrowth and low trees.
Adults have dull olive-green on the head and upperparts, with yellowish-buff underparts. A narrow reddish eye-ring and faint grey streaks on the throat and upper breast are described.
In evergreen forest, it forages on bush tops, among shrubs, and in lower tree branches. Its recorded food includes beetles, small ants, and spiders, with seeds taken occasionally.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
