This Apomys occurs on Luzon in the Philippines. Records from Mt. Pinatubo come from sites at different elevations.
Its back is brown with gray tones, its underside is grayish-white, and its tail is thicker than in many related Apomys.
The authors use records from different elevations on Mt. Pinatubo as evidence that the species persisted despite major habitat disturbance.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
