The Lilac-crowned Fruit Dove is a forest pigeon endemic to the Cook Islands, where it occurs on Rarotonga and Atiu.
The sexes look alike. The head is pale gray with a magenta crown, and belly color differs between islands: it is described as yellow with a dark magenta patch on Rarotonga and greenish-yellow on Atiu.
At one nest observed at Avatiu on Rarotonga in 1997, both birds incubated and cared for the chick.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
