The Gray Pratincole catches flying insects on the wing and lives around large rivers in West Africa, where it rests and nests on sandbanks.
It is pale gray above, with a rufous hindneck, white underparts washed ochre across the breast, and red legs and bill base.
It is usually gregarious, rests on sandbanks, and catches flying insects in the air. It also runs after insects and spiders on the ground.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
