This jacamar has a long bill and metallic green-blue and bronze plumage. It waits on branches and catches flying insects.
The male has a metallic green-blue head and bronze-green back and breast, with a white throat and belly. The female is similar but has an ochre throat and belly.
It perches on exposed branches from low vegetation to the canopy, alone, in pairs, or in groups of about three or four. From a perch it sallies after flying insects.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
