This small tube-nosed bat is recorded in several Indochinese countries. A 2026 paper reported one female from Yunnan as the first record of the species in China.
The single female described from Yunnan in a 2026 paper had long, fluffy dorsal fur: gray-black at the base, pale yellow in the middle, and dark brown at the tips. Ventral hairs changed from gray bases to whitish or pale-yellow tips.
A 2011 survey in Quang Ngai, central Vietnam, captured the bat by a shallow forest-edge pond and along trails and a stream inside forest. These are capture sites, not evidence of habitat preference.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
