A medium-sized shrew recorded from two localities in southern Somalia. Its back is gray tinged with brown, its underside whitish, and its thick tail has long bristles.
The dorsal fur is gray tinged with brown. The whitish underside has gray-based hairs; the feet are gray. Its long, thick, grayish tail is covered in bristle hairs.
It is recorded in gallery forest, savanna, arid bush, and cultivated land. HMW8 also describes it as terrestrial.
