This bat is recorded from the Ecuadorian Andes. Its lower lip forms a projecting tube, and the tongue of fresh specimens measured 6–8 cm. By comparing diets of sympatric Anoura species, the authors proposed that it may visit flowers with long corollas.
The lower lip projects in a tube beyond the upper lip, and tongues of fresh specimens measured 6–8 cm. The tail tip extends slightly beyond the edge of the membrane between the hind legs.
The paper records infrequent captures in cloud forest on both the eastern and western slopes of the Andes throughout Ecuador. Flower visits are suggested from diet comparisons, rather than documented as direct feeding observations.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
