The shell is moderately depressed, with a moderately exserted spire. The aperture is circular, with a simple, continuous and free peristome. Widely spaced axial costae of the periostracum form broad flanges with rounded tips at the shell periphery. It inhabits leaf litter in indigenous forest in narrow ravines and subtropical thicket, and also occurs under stones and among leaf litter in thicket–fynbos transition areas. It is known from the narrow Baviaanskloof valley in Eastern Cape, South Africa.
