The Golden-whiskered Barbet lives in forests from the Malay Peninsula to Sumatra and Borneo. It forages mainly for fruit in the canopy.
Much of its plumage is green. Yellow moustache-like marks extend from each side of the black bill toward the ear, the throat is blue, and small blue and red spots mark the head.
It spends much of the day in the canopy and eats mainly figs and berries. The page also notes pecking at dead wood, but treats insect feeding as an inference, so that claim is not included.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
