The Green Shrike-Vireo ranges from southeastern Mexico to eastern Panama. It occurs in humid forest canopies and second-growth woodland in lowlands and foothills.
The upperparts are bright green, with a blue band on the hindneck. The throat is yellow and the underparts are pale yellow-green, with a yellower vent. It has a heavy head and stout, hooked bill.
It stays high in foliage, where its green plumage camouflages it. Its song is a repeated series of three whistle notes.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
