This large free-tailed bat is recorded in tropical Australia. It has large joined ears and a wrinkled face. Its back is dark and its underside is paler.
Its large ears meet over the head, and its nose and lips are wrinkled. The back ranges from dark reddish brown to smoky black, with a paler gray-brown underside.
It roosts in tree hollows or caves and catches flying insects above canopy, open spaces, and water. The Australian Museum notes its fast, direct flight through open rather than dense forest.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
