This small tree-dwelling rodent has a yellowish orange-brown back and white belly. In Brazil, records extended from the Cerrado into the Atlantic Forest.
Its soft back fur is yellowish orange-brown finely mixed with black. The belly is white, with a narrow gray-based band along the sides. The long tail is dark over most of its length.
It is arboreal. In the study sample, reproductive males and females were recorded between December and January, during the rainy season.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
