The Lazuli Kingfisher lives in Indonesia's southern Moluccas. Males are blue and white, while females also have blue-purple on the breast and belly.
Males have a dark blue crown, paler blue upperparts, a white throat and breast, and a pale blue belly. Females have a blue breast and belly with purple-blue on the hindneck and sides.
It watches for prey from a shaded forest perch, dead tree, or wire, and catches beetles and grasshoppers. It also uses lowland secondary growth and mangroves.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
