The single male described in the source has a pale ochre head-and-chest region with a large brown central mark and an almost black underside to the chest. Unambiguous records come from Iriomotejima and Kumejima islands in Okinawa Prefecture.
The described male’s upper head-and-chest region is pale ochre with a large brown central mark, slightly divided at the back by a central line. The eye area and face below the eyes are also brown.
In August 1985, one male and one female were recorded from Cave No 2 at Otomi on Iriomotejima.
The underside of the described male’s chest is very dark brown, almost black. The legs are light brown, with paler tips on the long segments and indistinct dark rings.
The described male’s abdomen is pale gray, with very indistinct spots showing through above. A broad darker band below is also very indistinct.
Females generally resemble males, but have a still lower eye area and more closely spaced groups of three eyes. Some females lack the pale central line dividing the brown mark on the head-and-chest region.
