This black colobus is recorded in forests of east-central Democratic Republic of the Congo. Pale orange-cream skin around the mouth and a white perianal patch stand out.
Its coat is black. Bare skin around the mouth, philtrum, and parts of the nostrils is orange-cream. Both sexes have a white patch around the anus; it is sparsely covered with fine white hairs in males and largely bare in females.
Field records mainly place it in the canopy and middle levels of mature forest; mixed-species associations with other monkeys were also observed. These are limited observations, not a complete habitat survey.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
