Adult males have small eyes with round pupils. Adult males have fine granular dorsal scales mixed with enlarged, strongly keeled, conical tubercles, and spine-like scales on the flanks. Adult males have slightly long and slender forelimbs and hindlimbs. It inhabits rocks in moist deciduous forest. Individuals were observed active by day on rocks below 2 m above ground, and inactive on exposed rocks at night. It is recorded from Papanasam Reserve Forest in the Mundanthurai forest range of Kalakad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve, Tamil Nadu, India.
