This reed-warbler lives on Saipan. A 1998 report records it in reed marshes, forest edges, thicket-meadow mosaics and forest openings on the island.
The plan describes a medium-sized, yellowish bird with a particularly long bill compared with mainland reed-warblers.
Records from Saipan compiled by 1998 place most birds in thicket-meadow mosaics, forest edges, reed marshes and forest openings. They were largely absent from mature native forest, beach-strand vegetation and swordgrass grassland.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
