This mouse has cinnamon-brown underparts. It burrows beneath large limestone blocks; the 1951 original description then knew it only from El Carrizo, Tamaulipas.
The back is ochraceous, with lighter cheeks, neck sides, shoulders, and upper forelegs. The underside is light cinnamon, with a brighter chest patch; the feet are white and the tail is faintly darker above than below.
Specimens were collected in jungle-like forest among rocks and beside logs. The account describes burrows running under large limestone blocks, with excavated soil piled near the openings.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
