The Sacred Kingfisher lives in Australian forests and wooded edges. Many birds that breed in the south move north for winter.
It combines a turquoise back, rump, and tail with pale underparts and collar, plus a dark stripe through the eye.
It watches for prey from a low perch and catches insects, small reptiles, crustaceans, and other small animals.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
