This small tyrant flycatcher lives in humid lowland forest across the Amazon Basin. Males are blue-gray above, while females have a brighter green back.
Males have blue-gray upperparts and broad white wing edges. Females have a brighter green mantle and back. The bird is nearly crestless, with a small, often concealed crown patch.
It uses humid lowland forest and forest edges. Reported feeding includes gleaning insects high in the canopy and short sallies to catch them, but the account says the species’ natural history remains poorly studied.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
