The Bare-crowned Antbird is a lowland antbird occurring from Central America into northern Colombia. The male has a bare blue area on the crown.
The male is mostly black, with bare blue skin extending from the crown below the eye. The rufous female has blue skin limited to the eye area and lores.
It uses lowland second growth, forest edges, and scrubby clearings. It is often near army-ant swarms and eats mostly insects and spiders.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
