This small flycatcher inhabits lowland and foothill forest in West and Central Africa. Dark chocolate-brown plumage, long pointed wings, and high perches on dead trees are characteristic.
At a distance it looks entirely dark, but closer views show a chocolate-brown base and paler brown streaking below. Its long, pointed wings make it look swallow-like in flight.
It perches on dead trees in clearings of lowland and foothill forest, including rainforest, riparian woodland, and plantations. It may occur in small groups and sallies for aerial invertebrates.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
