An orange parrotbill with a black eyebrow and throat that forms flocks in bamboo-rich mountain forest.
It is orange overall, with a black eyebrow, throat, and wingtips. The cheek patch is gray in eastern populations and orange in western ones.
It is strongly associated with bamboo stands in mid- to high-elevation broadleaf forest, where it moves in fast flocks and gives high buzzy calls. It sometimes joins mixed-species flocks.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
