The King Jird is a large gerbil known from rocky highlands in southwestern Saudi Arabia, including the Asir Mountains. Its behavior in the wild is still poorly known.
The six animals captured near Abha (five males and one female) had a mean body mass of 198 ± 11.5 g.
It lives in rocky mountain areas and has been reported to burrow among bushes.
