This fruit bat is recorded on Sulawesi and nearby Indonesian islands. Its back is brown, while its chest and belly are grayish brown.
The back fur is brown over gray-brown underfur. The head, forehead, forearms, and rump are darker brown; the chest and belly are grayish brown, with warmer brown flanks.
In the original survey, the authors recorded this species more often in primary forest at low and middle elevations. The paper also includes island records from other elevations, so it is not confined to one height band.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
